Name: Carbine
Age: 3 years
Breed: Doberman/Husky Mix
Gender: Male
Description: His fur is on the short side, colored dark with light tan markings similar to those of a doberman covering his face, chest, and lower legs. Unlike a doberman though, he has a narrow, yet fuzzy tail that he carries partially curled over his back but not resting on it. His ears are tall and broad-based with tan insides and tend to flop over haphazardly when he's relaxed. His most charming feature is his eye color. The left is blindly blue but the right is a deep chocolate brown.
Personality: Known to be overly sarcastic and a bit too cynical, he doesn't play well with others..usually. It takes an extremely patient character to overcome his arrogant outer shell. Once you get past the cold, skeptical cover though, you'll find a lonely, depressed yet loyal canine. He's very very slow to trust but tends to value the lives of all around him and would protect them with his life, even if they are strangers, especially if a human is the antagonist. He has a soft spot for young humans but any two legger older than about ten years is on his bad list immediately.
History: Carbine was born one cold March morning in under a wooden park bench in a litter of six. While he was still young, before his eyes were open, a car was responsible for the death of his mother on her way back from a nearby dumpster that was sadly across the busiest street in the city. This particularly bothers the mixed breed because he never knew what his mother looked like or what happened to her but he did hear her yelp and he did smell her blood so he's almost positive that she's dead. Soon after said incident, a young couple out for a walk discovered the littler of pups and couldn't resist taking them home to care for them. When they were old enough, the five females were all easily sold but the little male was hard to place thanks to his blind eye, inherited from his husky half.
The pup was eventually abandoned by the couple when he was about 10 weeks old when they discovered that he didn't get along with their newborn child. They merely dropped him outside the back door and closed it behind him. After about an hour of whining, a neighbor came out and shot the noisy puppy for waking him at such a late hour. That is why Carbine hates older humans.
Now he (Boo Berry) walks with a continuous limp and carries a scar on his left shoulder. As to why he likes younger humans is a mystery. Nothing in particular happened to him after that but he just can't bring himself to attack a little one. Young puppies, too. It gives him a kind of fatherly air about him.
RP sample: A lone figure ran through the blinding snow, keeping his streamlined head low to the ground in a vain attempt to shield his eyes. Veering left, he stealthily trotted up the steps of a nearby fire escape, pausing at the top to shake his ebony pelt free of annoying white flakes. The snow could not reach him here as he was sheltered by a small, overhanging roof used to shield some long dead plants from weather like this. Why the two leggers would want to save dead plants the husky mix couldn't place but, whatever the reason, he was thankful for it. He curled into a black ball, his long tail falling across his face. He stared at the fuzzy appendage, curious as to why he continuously did that. The pettily little thing offered no protection from the cold or rain yet every time he curled into a ball, there it was! Rolling his eyes, the mutt decided not to dwell on such a trivial matter. So he had a habit, it's not like it's a crime. Mentally shrugging, the young male, called Carbine, closed his eyes to rest.
