Name: Tucker
Age: 2 1/2
Breed: Golden Retreiver
Gender: male
Discription: Tucker isn't the biggest dog, but he has some size and is bigger than most of his breed. He has little or no fat. His coat is a light gold color but it lightens into a cream color toward the lower part of his body, mosty his underbelly. His head is rounded, ears flat to his head and his muzzle is blunt and faily short. Both ears and muzzle are darker than the rest of him. His legs are not that long and faily muscular, due to years of hunting and frequent exersise. But his paws are larger than normal. His tail is long and feathered. His coat is well taken care of. He also has a dark green nylon collar with many tags on it, and a silver choke chain collar.
Personality: Tucker is very trusting and an all around lovable dog. When he knows you, other than that, when it comes to strays, hes very wary and has a habit of trying to stay far away from them. But he will walk p to random humans just for a pat on the head. He is not, nowever, stupid, and can tell the difference between good and bad. Hes protective and loving to people he gets close to. Hes also very dependable, he will do almost anything for a good friend as long as it doesn't hurt his human companians. He hardly displays his emotions, and it seems like he afraid of nothing, though he is often fighting internal conflicts.
History: Ever since Tucker was born, he was cared for by humans. He was born in a litter of five in a house in the woods. His temporary family cared for him and his sibling greatly until they were old enough to be sold, until then Tunker learned to trust humans. After all, they fed him, let him play outside and his mother was always at ease with the woman they lived with. Since he lived at a breeders, he never met his father. Most of Tuckers days were spent outside in,what seemed like, and endless yard. He loves to dicover new scents and roll in the pine needles. But when he got bigger, other humans began coming to the house and looking at him and his siblings. At first he was wary, but soon was easily jumping all over them when they came in, barking and ready to play with the younger ones if they were there. One day, he found himself rolling around with his brothers and sisters in a large pen. Lots of humans were gathered around now. Touching and playing with him, at this point he had no name, but by now he thought his name was 'aww'. So everytime he heard it his ears would jerk toward the sound and he would be running around barking happily. One human inparticular, had tooken him out of the pen and had played with him alot. But something was different about the boy, he didn't seem like the other 'pups' he had played with. But he never seemed to be looking at anything, just staring blankly. He would talk softer than the other 'pups'. But it didn't matter he liked him the best of all, and he seemed to have taken a liking to him as well. Soon he found himself in a crate, with the pup clinging to it. It was new for him, he knew he was moving, but it didn't look like it when he would peer out the crate door. When he finnaly stopped moving, the smells were new and the crate door opened revieling a new place. As ussuall he showed no fear of the place and began exploring. He would look up the find the pup walking near an older human, female like his previos owner ahd been. He was taken inside and a bright blue collar was put on. He loved the attention he was getting. He was fed and was aloud to get his own bed, the boy played with him. His life seemed complete.
A year later, his soft puppy down had become a glossy, shorter version of a coat to come. His legs seemed to long and he appeared skinny, though it was only well health. His 'pup' and him had been training, for something strange. He no longer only wore the bright blue puppy collar, but a thick neon orange collar, and a harness. He had discovered his boy was blind and he was to be his eyes. But the way they acted, they were both the same little boy and fearless puppy. Though his attitude and courage hadn't changed, his job had. She was not only his eyes, he was the boys gaurdian and his best friend. He had grown cautios against the humans at his gathering place who teased him and tried to trip him. After his first snap at an older boy, a threatening snarl was all that was needed and the boy was left alone. His boy, Alex, had gained confidence and now walked with pride of his friend. Each day he seemed to smuther Tucker with praise and approval, and he was content each day to protect him. But one day while on his way home, he lost the boy. It had been unexpected and so sudden even Tucker wasn't sure what had happened until it was over. He was leading him home, and a group of strays were watching them. They had a certian dislike for humans, and what was more perfect than a blind boy with no one but a pet to defend him. So they attacked. Being harnessed, Tucker had no time to leap in with a counter attack, and the boy was torn apart, after the first stick to the throat he went down easily. Tucker was unable to diliver proper help in the harness, but he left his mark apon them in many places. When the humans arrived, he was caught trying to clean the wounds, hoping he would wake up and live on, but at first glance it was all to obvious who got blamed. Tucker was sent to the pound and stiped of his Job and life. He was a day away from eiuthinasia when a human family came to pick him up. Now two yeas old, he had not lost any of his personality or courage. So he began living with those humans, spending his life defending them, always wary of strays and loving to humans. He found comfort in the two human pups they had and tried to forget his old humans though he is still unable to.
RP sample: An older golden lay on the side of what was considered 'his' porch. Tucker was dozing in the afternoon sun as his humans prepared to leave for a frequent gathering tey refered to as 'chuch'. But this word ment nothing to the golden dog. All he knew was his family was leaving and he was not going with them. But this no longer worried him, like when he was younger. Now almost three years of age, he had learned humans always came back to their home. No matter how long they were gone. Besides this provided peace and quiet for Tucker. He could sleep without being bothered. Not that he considered it bothering, the humans were always seeking to satisfiy(sp?) their bordem in many ways. Even the Tucker saught attention from them when he was lonley. However this day was not one of those days. His ears pirked at the noises he heard through the glass door. The almost constant sound of movment was a common enough sound for him, as well as the human calls from one room to another. He lifted his head and yawned dully. This was an average day for the golden dog, the life he had become accustomed to since birth, and a life he loved so dearly; the life of a house pet. Many of his kin thought poorly of this life and that he would forever be shamed with the bounderies of the wire chain fence than surrounded what he considered his territory. They shuned him for the rules he obayed, how he walked about on a lead, and how he would take food from human hands. Well, if a life of laws was this wonderfull feeling of loyalty and love for his family, then he had nothing to complain about. He lay his head back down on his paws and continued dozing, the warm sun only adding to his golden coloring.
